This active subwoofer includes a 2.1 amplifier inside the 25-pound rear-ported sub. It is in excellent working condition. There are some minor cosmetic scuffs in the silver vinyl cabinet.
This is part of Klipsch’s iFi 200 W speaker system. To operate, it needs a control pod that connects through a mini-DIN plug and cable (not included). I have matching Klipsch RSX-3 satellite speakers, but they are not included for this listing. This listing is ideal for someone who already has an iFi system, but their amplifier is not working (typically due to the original capacitors in the power supply being weak). The buyer may return a non-working iFi amplifier panel for a core return refund (details below).
COMPONENT UPGRADE:
This subwoofer’s amplifier panel has five new, low impedance, upgraded quality 4700 uF Nichicon (Japanese) filter capacitors for the power supply—better than when new.
INPUT:
The sub’s amplifier panel has a stereo input jack. Use a cable with a 3.5 mm (1/8”) tip-ring-sleeve (trs) plug to feed audio from a phone or tablet’s headphone output, or analog audio from a computer or gaming system.
OUTPUT:
This subwoofer includes a 6 ohm, 8” 100 watt speaker. The sub also has two speaker output spring tab terminal pairs for left and right desktop speakers (not included).
The original system would use 8 ohm 3” RSX-3 satellite speakers. The satellite section is rated to drive a minimum 4 ohms to the mid and high audio frequency speakers.
The efficient amplifier draws 15 watts at idle, and consumes under 50 watts average when producing over 100 dB of sound.
6-month warranty is included.
CORE RETURN REFUND OPTIONS:
The buyer may return an old iFi panel for a core return refund. Option 1) The buyer covers the return shipping cost for the core, and the refund is $33. (No core fee is charged. Rather, returning an old iFi panel will result in a $33 refund to the original purchase amount paid.
Option 2) For those in the lower 48 states, a Fed Ex Ground return label will be provided as an option, enabling a $15 core refund. The box can be dropped off at a Fed Ex Office. (The Fed Ex label costs me about $18 to use for an 8-pound amplifier panel, so the net core refund is $15 [$33 - $18 = $15].
